Task Manager on Ubuntu ?
it's simple command via terminal.
open your terminal : Applications - Accessories - Terminal and type :

~$ top
or
~$ gnome-system-monitor

like this :

you can stop running applications with killall command, example :
stop and close rhythmbox :

~$ killall rhythmbox
